From
Official Wall Press Release:
Frank
Polimeda of Ft. Lee, who finished the Modified race sixth after
starting 18th, had better fortunes in the 25-lapper for the TQ
Midgets. Starting ninth, Polimeda was soon in a position to challenge
and he raced past Chris Zrinski and into the lead on lap eight.
Recent winner Don Adams of Trenton tried to mount a challenge
before dropping from the test just four laps from the end. That
turn of events found Don Zrinski race into second at the finish,
with Chris Zrinski, third, defending champ Mike Tidaback, fourth
and Steve Stull, fifth.

From
Official Wall Press Release:
Frank Polimeda raced his way to the front from
a tenth starting spot and then fought off the constant challenges
of two-time defending champ Jimmy Blewett to win the 35-lap Busch
Beer Modified stock car main event in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly
Series at Wall Township Speedway Saturday night. It was the first
win of the year for the "Fort Lee Flyer." Polimeda had
two wins in 2002 on his way to a third place finish in the Modified
point standings.
Tim Arre of Toms River was the first leader of the affair as Polimeda
and a host of others fought their way to the front of the pack.
Arre led through lap 15 when mechanical troubles slowed his pace
allowing John Blewett III to advance to the top spot while Polimeda
and Jimmy Blewett wrestled for second.
John Blewett then paced the pack through lap
24 when mechanical woes sent his No. 66 to the pit area. That
turned the struggle for second between Polimeda and Jimmy Blewett
into a fight for first. Although Blewett was constantly attacking
for the final 11 circuits, Polimeda and his Neptune Research No.
40 held on for the impressive win. Mike Carr of Wall was third
at the stripe, while both Marc Rogers of Brick and Manahawkin's
Dave Michel recovered from early race trouble for fourth and fifth.
"This is a great win for this team,"
Polimeda, who had also raced 100-laps in a TQ Midget feature earlier
in the evening, said. "I'm pretty tired right now. My arms
are telling me I raced 135 feature race laps tonight. Still, this
Modified was real good tonight. John, Akos and the crew gave me
a good car." (Photos: Ace Lane)
